REPORT: Performance benchmarks

Database architects, analysts, and administrators are constantly seeking more cost-efficient, fast, and reliable ways to collect, store, and best use their organization’s data. In doing so, enterprises are turning to cloud services solutions for their data warehousing such as AWS Redshift or Google's BigQuery.

Recently, we have witnessed a great deal of discussion surrounding the best-performing data warehouse technologies in the cloud, with competing claims and rebuttals emerging in the blogosphere from Google, AWS, and also research from other big data companies like Periscope or ourselves here at Panoply.io. In this paper we analyze some of the latest tests and research, including our own lab results, trying to bring some light into this discussion.

In this paper you will find:

  • Google’s performance benchmarks
  • AWS rebuttal tests and benchmarks
  • PeriscopeData tests results
  • Panoply.io tests and research
